I wrote a Proverb today, what do you think Iam trying to say?
by Nambo inhere in the uk we are going through the annual rememberence rituals and everybody wears a red poppy.. i prefer to wear the white poppy of the peace pledge union which elicits both respect and contempt.
its interesting to see the way members of parliaments eyes alight on my somewhat rebelious symbol when they say good morning to me.. .
anyhow, today i composed a proverb, maybe its crap?, iam a mechanic by trade, not a poet.. so, what do you think iam trying to say?

I feel so horrible that certain ones of us that were born in are effectively excluding those that converted. Those that were born in had exclusivity forced onto them, and unfortunately it does not leave just because one leaves the WT. It seems that those that were born in tend to be more bitter against the WT than those that converted. Reading through some of these posts, bitterness is still VERY much there. Bitterness really is poisonous.
I wish I could say something to convince converts to post on this thread, but I see why many don't. I wish I could say that they wouldn't be torn down by those of us that were born in. But it happens alot on JWN. It's a sad thing, I must say.

Yes, I am very well versed in creationism, and not just from wikipedia...
When most non believers talk about creationism, they are referring to 6 day or yound earth creationism. Theistic evolution is very different in that it accepts all scientific findings, but realizes that a transcendant God completely fits in with the scientific record. Also, theistic evolutionists are not even necessarily Christians. Many are, but many others are not.

Creationism is not a fact-based worldview, its about starting with the conclusion and making the facts fit, or even better, finding some reason to ignore them. all appolegists end up doing that.
I haven't read the posts after bohms, but I will. I just wanted to clarify that this book is not about Creationism. Collins is a theistic evolutionist.

My country is sick
by sabastious inthis is a melancholy day for me.
over the past few years i have been studying american politics and have enjoyed learning perspectives from different ideologies.
i personally lean towards conservative values when it comes to creating legislature, however i am socially liberal.

If you begin at around 10:30 on this video, they begin to explain that they (the 2 JWs speaking) are not included in the NT. It was written only to the annointed. It's an interesting subject to pursue with other JWs, I think...

What's the easiest way to explain the gospel?
by proclaim_truth injust wondering what exactly the gospel is, and how i should understand it to be.

i would hope that if someone said something different to me i would not immediately shut off my mind like this guy does.
i would hope that we could have an intelligent conversation.
